You can browse or photocopy microfilms and microfiches held in the Library of Economics using the microfilm reader-printers. Since the number of reader-printers is limited, advance reservations are required.

Using Microfilm Reader-Printers
Service Hours
- Members of the University of Tokyo: From opening until 30 minutes before closing
- Non-members of the University of Tokyo: Up to two hours from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on weekdays except when the library is closed
- Staff instruction is unavailable from 12:00 p.m. to 12:45 p.m. on weekdays
- Please check the calendar for opening hours.
Reservation
- Advance reservation is required. Members of the University of Tokyo may reserve microfilm reader-printers in 3-hour increments.
- You may continue to use it if there are no other reservations.
- Please use the form below to make a reservation by 4:00 p.m. on weekdays (except when the library is closed) before your preferred date.
The title, call number, and your preferred date of use must be provided.
To search for materials, use UTokyo OPAC or Engel (営業報告書・有価証券報告書・目論見書, 山一證券資料目録, etc.).
We will notify you at a later time if it is available.
Printing
Please fill out the photocopy application form and submit it in person.
Color printing is not available.
The library’s copy machines accept either cash, the University of Tokyo CO-OP copy cards, or the Graduate School and the Faculty of Economics’s publicly funded copy card.
1. Cash or the University of Tokyo CO-OP copy cards
- It will be printed on CO-OP copy machines in the reading room.
- Fee: 10 yen per sheet
- There is a card vending machine in the reading room. 3,000-yen and 1,000-yen cards are available.
- Cash payments can be made with 1,000-yen bills and 10-, 50-, 100-, and 500-yen coins.
- The latest Japanese banknotes and 500-yen coin cannot be used. We also do not provide change or currency exchange.
- You can use the new banknotes and the new 500-yen coin to buy copy cards at the Hongo campus Co-op store No.1 of the University of Tokyo. The store also provides banknote change for old 1,000-yen notes or 100-yen coins. Please note the service hours.
- A fee will also be charged for misprints, except those caused by equipment malfunction.
- If you need receipts, go to the Hongo campus Co-op store No.1 of the University of Tokyo. Please note the service hours.
2. Graduate School and the Faculty of Economics’s publicly funded copy card
- Faculty members, professors emeritus, and graduate students of the Graduate School and the Faculty of Economics can use the copy machine in the stacks with the publicly funded copy card. Please consult the library staff for assistance.
