Visiting Our Library

Inquiry before Visiting

If your users wish to visit our library, please inquire with us about the availability of materials by email or fax seven to three opening days (excluding Saturday opening days and holiday opening days) before your preferred date.
Please note that we may limit the use of materials depending on their conditions.
We also accept inquiries from individuals.

• Title of material
• Volume, issue, and year of publication, for journals
• Call number
• Material ID
  Please confirm materials using UTokyo OPAC.
  For materials with the locations “Eco.Lib.Resources” and “Eco.Lib.Vault”, please inquire with the Resources and Historical Collections Office (Shiryo-shitsu).
• User’s name
• Preferred date and time (*)
• Preferred service: Browse / Borrow (borrowing is only available to members of our partner organizations)
• Contact information of your library

* Visitors may stay in the library up to two hours during opening hours for general materials and up to two hours from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on weekdays (except when the library is closed) for microform materials.
If you would like to stay longer, please let us know the reason and the number of additional hours you would like to use.

Entering the Library

• A letter of introduction issued by your institution is not required.
• lease bring your official identification (e.g., student ID, driver’s license, Individual Number Card) and present it to the staff at the circulation desk.

Photocopy Delivery

For libraries participating in the NACSIS-ILL Offset Service

Please submit your request via NACSIS-ILL.

Fee

Black & White 50 yen / Color 90 yen per sheet, plus postage
* Overseas libraries are required to make payment using IFLA vouchers.

For Non-member Libraries of the NACSIS-ILL Fee Offset Service

Please provide the following information by email or fax.
We will inform you of the next steps later.

• Volume, issue, and year of publication, for journals
• Call number
• Material ID
  Please confirm materials using UTokyo OPAC.
  Materials with the locations “Eco.Lib.Resources” and “Eco.Lib.Vault” are held in the Resources and Historical Collections Office (Shiryo-shitsu). It will take some time to check the availability of the materials.

Interlibrary Loan (ILL)

For libraries participating in the NACSIS-ILL Offset Service

Please submit your request via NACSIS-ILL.

Fee

Total amount: one-way shipping cost plus a 350‑yen handling fee per order
* Overseas libraries are required to make payment using IFLA vouchers.

Loan Period

Up to five books per library, within one month (including both shipping and return transit time).
