Materials in the Reading Room
During opening hours, you can browse the reading room’s materials, including current journals, newly arrived books, Recommended Books (指定図書), reserved books, and newspapers.
Materials in the Stacks
Service hours and procedures vary depending on your eligibility to enter the stacks.
Those who are Eligible to Enter the Stacks
You can enter the stacks to browse materials there during opening hours.
Please present your UTokyo ID/Student ID/Library card at the circulation desk when you bring materials out from the stacks to use in the reading room.
Those who are not Eligible to Enter the Stacks
If you are not eligible to enter the stacks, the staff will retrieve the materials you need from the stacks.
Complete the Stack Materials Request Form and present it at the circulation desk during stack service hours.
The following information is required for retrieval:
- Call number
- Title of material
- Volume, issue, and year of publication for journals
* Any format that includes the information above is acceptable.
