Using the IDE Library (For Members of the Graduate School and the Faculty of Economics)

Since June 25, 2016, members of the Graduate School and the Faculty of Economics have been able to visit the Institute of Developing Economies (IDE) library and borrow books in accordance with the memorandum on mutual use between the Library of Economics and the IDE library.

Individuals Subject to the Service

  • Members of the Graduate School and the Faculty of Economics (including Professors Emeritus of the Graduate School of Economics)
  • Members of the Graduate School of Public Policy who use the Library of Economics as their “Home Library”

Entering the Library

You can enter the IDE Library by presenting your UTokyo ID/Student ID.

Borrowing in Person

IDE library user card is required.

How to Apply for an IDE Library User Card

  1. Please obtain the “IDE Library User Card Application Form (利用者カード申請書)” at the Library of Economics circulation desk.
    Service hours: 9:00 a.m. – 11:50 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. on weekdays, except when the library is closed

  2. Submit the form and present your UTokyo ID/Student ID for verification at the IDE Library circulation desk.

Expiration date of an IDE Library User Card

Your card is valid during the fiscal year of issuance.
If you wish to renew it, please submit the form again.

Loan Conditions

  • General Books: 10 items, for 30 days
  • Statistical Books: 10 items, for 14 days
